Musicians start gathering Friday afternoon, acoustic jams are every where on the city square. Bring a chair, find someone playing your favorite music and join in. We do the old fiddle tunes, country and bluegrass. Bring your guitar, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, bass, lap dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, autoharp, mouth harp, jews harp. By Sunday afternoon, your fingers are tired, vocal cords wore out, leg is sore from tapping your toes - time to go home after the best music jam yet. 'Till next year.
Instrument Sitting
After hours of 'picking' on the Square, now you can take a break without carrying around your instrument. At the Information Booth on the Square, we will provide 'Instrument Sitting'. Just like a coat check at the fancy clubs, we will give a token and you can reclaim your case when you return. Still, you should put a card with your name and number inside the case, so you shouldn't leave with a better instrument than you came with - The Management.
Off the Square 'pickin' spots
The Smith House spot is actually the little brick courtyard on Main Street on the way to the Holly - behind the yellow building on the corner of Main and Chestatee. There will be a sign at the steps to the courtyard . This is compliments of The Smith Hosue and Dress Up Boutique.
The other location is the Lawn of Shenanigan's, corner of Chestatee and Warwick, compliments of Shenanigan's. There will be a sign at that corner as well.
Dulcimer Players
All dulcimer players are invited to jam at the demonstration tent, Saturday at 4 pm.
